Lambda - The Name
The name “Lambda” was chosen as its meaning (in financial mathematics) is consistent with our philosophy.
In financial mathematics, the Greek symbol 
(lambda) is used to represent the expected return premium (above a risk free rate of return) per unit of risk taken.
Lambda Group is committed to providing clients with strategic value-added financial solutions to meet their needs, within levels of risk acceptable to the client.
Mission Statement
Lambda‘s mission is to:
- provide strategic financial consulting and administration solutions to superannuation funds, statutory bodies, high net worth individuals and small to medium sized enterprises
- conceptualise and deliver optimal and value added client focused financial solutions
- deliver our services using innovative and efficient processes underpinned by high ethical and compliance standards
- provide to staff an enjoyable and challenging work environment with opportunities for career development commensurate with their ability and ambition
- retain and enhance the profitability and financial strength of the business
Corporate Structure
The current structure is:
- Lambda Group Pty Ltd (holding company)
- Lambda Investment Solutions Pty Ltd (subsidiary)
- SuperAct Pty Ltd (associated firm)
The Lambda group of companies is owned and operated by its senior personnel. Lambda provides consulting and financial services for a fee agreed with the client. Lambda does not receive any incentives or remuneration from any investment manager, bank or other financial institution for recommendations of client business.
Lambda Investment Solutions Pty Ltd holds an Australian Financial Services License Number 240024.
Malcolm Gillespie
Principal
B App Sc, M Sc St, CIMA, AIAA, ASFA AIF
Malcolm is a founding Principal of Lambda Group and has over 20 years experience in superannuation, actuarial and investment consulting.
Malcolm is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (AIAA) and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) Australia. Malcolm was in the first cohort outside North America to successfully qualify for the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation. Malcolm has also qualified for the ASFA Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.
Malcolm specialises in strategic retirement, estate and superannuation consulting, and investment consulting and portfolio management.
Malcolm is the Responsible Officer of Lambda Investment Solutions Pty Ltd.

Paul de Beer
Principal

Paul joined Lambda Group on 1 April 1996.
Paul has over 15 years experience in superannuation and investment consulting and management. Paul specialises in:
- strategic retirement, estate, and superannuation consulting
- investment consulting and portfolio management
Paul also manages Lambda’s investment services division.
Paul is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institue of Australasia (FINSIA). Paul has also qualified for the ASFA Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.

William Szuch
Consultant and Actuary

Bill is the principal of consulting firm, WSA Financial Consulting Pty Ltd and consults to Lambda on a variety of actuarial assignments.
Bill was formerly a director and principal of Financial Synergy Pty Ltd.
William Paige
CA, B Bus (Acctg)
Bill has over 25 years experience in the Chartered Accounting profession.
Bill specialises in assisting small to medium sized enterprises with accounting, taxation and business advice and has been Principal of his own professional practice for the last seven years.
Bill is:
- a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
- a Registered Tax Agent.
